Terri has been working with clients concerning issues around anxiety, depression, substance abuse and trauma for the past 18 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Vermont in 1989; and her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2000 from Antioch New England Graduate School. She completed internships at both the University of Vermont Counseling Center and the ACT One/ Bridge Program, a one to six day detox center, from 1998 to 2000. She worked from 2000 to 2007 at the Act One Bridge Program as a substance abuse counselor, taking time off to care for her two sons from 2002-2004.

Terri was trained as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist in 2006 at Maple Leaf Farm Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Center. In 2000, she began private practice serving the Bristol Community and surrounding areas. She specializes in addiction counseling, trauma, anxiety, depression and stress reduction. She uses individual and group modalities coupled with a client centered psychodynamic approach encouraging clients to be active participants in their recovery and growth process. She focuses on the client’s best practices and strengths using Mindfulness based strategies, Cognitive Behavioral and Reality Therapy, helping clients become fully present in their lives and therefore taking full responsibility for their choices.

In 2014, Terri received her Master’s Level Reiki Certification in the Usui Lineage of Reiki. She is excited to offer alternative forms of healing and self improvement through Reiki.

Beginning October 1st 2015, Terri will accept Medicaid health insurance for clients with a substance related issues.
